Amazing Little Machine
I have both bought and built computers before. This little machine is by far the quietest. In fact, if it didn’t have a light on it, I might not know it is on. First a little about my usage. I write code, which means I sometimes have huge processor spikes which can grind a system to a halt. So far, that really hasn’t happened with 4 CPUs. I also play games and have found all of my older PC games run with everything turned up to the highest levels. Such as Half Life 2 Episode 2. While there are things I don’t like about the system, they are relatively minor.
Pros:
* Fast. Really fast. Including games.
* Quad Core CPU means even if I start compiling nothing slows down.
* Graphics card was *slightly* better than advertised according to drivers (It says my card is a ATI Radeon HD 5770). Your millage may vary.
* Windows 7 is mostly better than Vista. This is my first 64 bit system and it runs like a champ.
* 8 Gigs is awesome. I’ve never even come close to running out of memory.
* PC worked well hooked up to my HDTV, even playing games on the HDTV looks amazing.
Cons:
* I don’t like the feel of the mouse and keyboard.
* I don’t like the look of the case that much.
* PSU and motherboard don’t offer much room for upgrades.
* Some stuff I did not want had to be uninstalled and a lack of installation disks is unfortunate.
* Warranty is pretty limited… if I ever need it.
* Sound crackles sometimes. A reboot fixes this.
One other thing I will note… A previous reviewer mentioned not wanting to open the case in fear of voiding the warranty. As best I could tell there is no sticker showing if you had opened the case nor did I notice anything about that mentioned in the warranty, although I wasn’t looking that hard.
If possible I would rate this 4.5 / 5 as the sound crackle issue is unexpected. Every other issue I have I already knew before I ordered the system or are really minor and personal such as the feel of the keyboard and mouse. All in all a good little system.

Best bargain for the price, at this moment
Ive been looking around for the past few months for a new computer, and regardless of how much I looked and calculated things out, besides building your own, this is probably the best value for the price.
I used to be able to have time to upgrade my old computer, but the old computer i had just cant get any more upgrades. I didnt have the time to make my own system. After spending two or more weeks looking at the internet, this Gateway was the best value. I looked everywhere – hp, dell, cyberpower, ibuypower, etc. and this one particular system was cheapest.
It has been running great thus far. I have had no major issues with it, other than the fact that it does take some time to make the Recovery disk – and i wonder why it couldnt have been premade. Otherwise, the system has been working excellently with no problems. Setup was extraordinarily simple. The box is relatively stylish, but a little on the larger side. The front only has 2 USB ports, but there are interestingly 2 on the top of the computer. The system is fast and the vid card, while i havent spent tons of time taxing it, seems to be performing great.
Great Gateway Desktop Computer
I love this computer, I switch over from Apple computer to a PC because Mac computer are getting out of my price range right now. It took some time to get use to a PC but I’m loving how fast this PC is, and it’s nice and quite. It dose what I need it to do.
