    The main application should be taken into consideration when choosing a blade edge (plain, partial or full serrations). I know a guy who works as a deck-hand on a yacht and he only uses serrated edge knives because he mostly cuts rope. There are sharpening hones that cater to a serrated blade. Using a sharpening guide rod with a multi-angle knife clamp, it’s hard to go wrong. I’d suggest a Lansky Sharpening system.

    bad choice with the edge the plain edges sell better the serrations are a pain in the to sharpen.

    Thanks for your comment. I could be wrong because manufacturers sometimes change/modify the design and materials used, but I double checked our specs and it says S30V for the steel. I believe in the video (time 4:46) you can see the back of the blade is stamped S30V.
