my personal preference is the older style Henkle 4-star, with full tank, wood handles and 3 rivets. I’ve been using them professionally for more than 40 years and still have some of the first knives I ever bought. Not cheap, but as they last forever, worth their weight in gold.

Cutco knives have the most comfortable handles I have ever used. Big or small, the knives all work easily because the handles are so nice. They’re the right size and shape for a hand. The blades are very sharp and hold their edge well, too.

I’m a Henckels Five Star girl myself but have a few others too.
I’d never buy a set, personally I think it’s a waste of time as there are many you really don’t need. I have:
- Henkel’s 5 Star 8in Chef’s Knife
- Henkel’s 5 Star 4in paring knife
- Wusthof 10 in Gourmet Super Slicer (great for breads, slicing cakes etc)
- Large, heavy Victorinox chef’s knife for cutting chicken bones etc
- Several cheap little Victorinox vegetable knives – serrated, smooth edge etc
I’m currently on the hunt for a Wusthof Ikon Hollow Edge/Santoku knife then my set (and my life of course!!) will be complete
Can you tell I LOVE my knives?!
